HOLIDAY HOME IN FRIESLAND FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY
Welcome to our holiday home in Friesland: Húns 16. An authentic workers' house from 1842. This cozy holiday home is our summer house and is located in the village of Húns. A typical Frisian place with a protected village view. Húns 16 overlooks a large kaats court and the Nicholas Church from the 13th century. The atmosphere of old Friesland comes to life in our house. With a box bed, original woodwork and a large sunny garden with a view over a meadow with Frisian horses.
In addition to the typical 19th century features - such as a box bed, provision cupboard and original woodwork - Húns 16 is fully equipped for a wonderful holiday in Friesland.
With a spacious kitchen-diner with all modern appliances, two bedrooms with double beds, a bedroom with two single beds, television, internet, central heating, washing machine, dryer and two small bathrooms.
And the house has many other extras. Like bicycles and a surfboard.
THE FACILITIES
ANNO 1842
Stay in a piece of Frisian history. Húns 16 is a workers' house from 1842. Fortunately, many of the original details from that time have been preserved. The wooden ceiling with beams, the box bed, the linen cupboard in the bedroom and of course the beautiful wooden paneling in the living room.
IN THE HEART OF FRIESLAND
Visit the historic cities of Leeuwarden, Franeker and Bolsward.
Cycle through characteristic villages such as Burgwerd and Mantgum.
Walk along the waters of the Eleven Cities Tour in Hindeloopen or Sneek.
Enjoy sailing on the Frisian lakes or surfing on the IJsselmeer.
Go mudflat walking, bird watching, fierljepping or playing kaatsen.
Discover museums and special sites.
Whatever you do, your Friesland holiday starts in Húns 16.
HOLIDAY WITH CHILDREN
When there is no kaats-match, the field is the ideal playground for children. Football, hockey, baseball, frisbee, kite flying... There is even a small playground with a swing, a seesaw and a slide.
Too hot day? Drive or cycle to Easterlittens. And jump off the bridge together with the local youth to cool off. Still too hot? Then get an ice cream on the water at It Krúswetter.
The older and brave children can try to jump over the small canals in the meadows with our pole.
Also nice for the children is of course the original box bed. And for rainy days we have plenty of board games to keep you entertained.
FRIESLAND HOLIDAY HOME ON THE WATER
Are you looking for a holiday home on the water in Friesland? Then Húns 16 is really something for you. Behind our house is an old canal. In the past, this canal was in direct contact with the Bolswardertrekvaart. To prevent pleasure boats from sailing past the village gardens all day, that connection has unfortunately been broken.
WINTER IN HÚNS
It is also wonderful to stay in Friesland in the colder months. Enjoy the peace, the morning mist and the autumn sun. And with the slightest snow, the surroundings of Húns turn into a fairy tale. Will it also freeze quite a bit? Then the villagers join forces to transform the kaats field into a wonderful skating rink.
